One of the most exciting parts of moving into your new home is getting to explore the neighbourhood you’re now part of. From discovering  your favourite restaurants, go-to grocery store or learning your new transit routes, getting to know the neighbourhood you live in can really help make your house feel like a home.

This summer, we expanded beyond Toronto and introduced suites at Garment street condos in the heart of Kitchener's innovation district. This charming modern high rise is just steps away from Kitchener’s vibrant downtown, greenspaces and more and will soon be home to new Key Owner-Residents.

So let’s explore the neighbourhood. Here are five noteworthy spots and activities within 15 minutes of Garment St. condos.

Explore Victoria Park

While Kitchener’s innovation district is well known for its many tech companies, there’s also no shortage of greenspace. Most notably Victoria Park, which is not only the largest park in Kitchener-Waterloo but also the oldest park in the city.

Filled flower beds, a tree-lined path and the Victoria Park lake, this is the perfect nature spot to spend a sunny weekend afternoon or to go see the fall foliage. The Park also features the Victoria Park pavilion, Victoria Park Gallery, a boathouse and bandstand, pub and music venues.

Other notable green spaces include Cherry Park and Old Willow Green Community Garden.

Travel made easy

Travelling has never been easier when you’re on Garment Street. This building puts you just down the street of central station, part of the ION light rail which travels between Conestoga Station in Waterloo and Kitchener’s Fairway station, with 19 stops along the way.

Want to travel beyond Kitchener-Waterloo? No need to worry, you’re just a 15 minute walk from the Kitchener Go station, one of the fastest and most affordable ways to travel around Southern Ontario.

Indulge in downtown Kitchener’s best restaurants

One of the best parts about living at Garment street condos is that you’re a less than 15-minute walk away from downtown Kitchener, home to some of the best restaurants in the city..

Whether you want a casual bite or a fine dining experience, there’s no shortage of selection in downtown Kitchener.

Notable mentions: 271West Restaurant, Bobby O’Brien’s, Civil Pizza, Crafty Ramen, Goldie’s Convenience, Descendents Brewery

Looking for another way to enjoy downtown Kitchener? Check out Downtown Kitchener’s Art walk.

Since its creation in September 2020, the art walk has featured selected pieces from local artists in large-frame installations on walls of a number of local businesses. With new pieces introduced each year, there’s always something different to see.

The art walk gives you a chance to see the city while supporting local artists and discovering local businesses. You can complete the art walk through a self-guided tour or sign up for a group guided tour.

Spend some time shopping

Being minutes from downtown Kitchener also means being minutes away from the city's best shopping area. Whether you’re looking for books, music, thrifted finds, home decor, clothing or footwear, the area has got you covered.
